I’ll be there March 24-30. The prime shooting times are mornings and early evenings, so there are a limited number of sessions available. Sitting fees are $100 due at the time of the session.

Last night was our first “Girl’s Night Out” Customer appreciation night. We teamed up with several other local businesses to host a party to honor our loyal customers. Chrysalis Hair Designs, Merle Norman Cosmetics and The James Store co-hosted the event with Michelle Murphy Photography. We had music provided by Richard and Jennifer Kinsley, wine courtesy of Buckeye Winery in Newark, desserts by Granville Gourmet. A fashion show coordinated by The James Store and a prize raffle were highlights of the evening. A charity 50/50 raffle to benefit “A Call To  College” concluded the evening’s activities. Linda Linham of Successful Ventures LLC skillfully coordinated the event.

Next year will be even bigger!

Well it’s been a long (expensive) haul, but the studio is finally done! I’ve got a few finishing touches to add (landscaping, awning and some odds and ends) but we’re in and fully functional. A load of boulders ( thanks Dad!) is gracing the outdoor shooting area - and there are plans for more natural props to come. I had some awesome people working on the project: Robertson Construction, Jannot’s Designs and All Aspects Coatings to name a few. John Klauder will be handling the landscaping.

The front of the house (1100 square feet of renovated office space) is ready for a tenant. It’s a warm, light filled work space- and an awesome location! Once 161 is finished the studio will be an easy destination for Columbus clients.

Until the front is rented it’s available as rental space for video production. The photo studio is available for rental as well.

 I’ve noticed at more and more wedding receptions, there’s really no need for professional photography coverage- everyone has a camera these days! I recently shot a wedding reception where even the DJ was taking photos of every event throughout the evening (and preventing me from capturing mine!). So I started thinking about offering a resonably priced package that covers everything BUT the reception. I’m including a CD of the images in this package. The actual photography coverage will be as complete and thorough as my traditional wedding photography- but without the extra 2-3 hours of reception coverage.

Here’s the package: $1100 plus 7.0% tax

Photography coverage from 1 hour before the ceremony to coverage after the ceremony of formal family portraits and candid fun shots of the bridal party and portraits of the bride and groom.

Summer is here, and if you’re a Junior preparing to start your Senior year, it’s  time to schedule your Senior Portrait Session. I’ve made some major changes in pricing and structure to this year’s senior portrait season and we’re in the new studio (finally!!) at 1805 Columbus Rd.

As in years past, there are no session fees- just minimum purchase requirements. I’ve really tried to simplify things.

Here are the session options (yearbook photos are included at no additional charge). The minmum purchase is due the day of the shoot and is applied to the print order.

STUDIO ONLY:

You can be photographed in up to 3 clothing changes. Minimum purchase $200

INDOOR/ OUTDOOR:

 2 outfits in studio, 1 outside on the studio grounds  Minimum purchase $200

LOCATION:

I will travel to your choice of location within 25 miles of the studio (a separate studio session will need to be scheduled for the yearbook photo). Session includes up to 3 clothing changes. Minimum purchase is $300.

Add a clothing change to any session for $50

Announcing our new baby program: “My First Year”

Schedule sessions at 3,6,9 and 12 months to fully document the dramatic stages of growth your baby experiences that first year. These sessions are fairly brief- 30 minutes, as babies tire quickly, but you will have many images from which to choose. These sessions are also limited to just the baby.

A four panel framed piece including 1 image from each session will be yours at the end of baby’s first year. $150 plus tax includes the framed piece and 4 sessions.

This is the time of year that many Catholic children celebrate their First Communion. Since much time and attention is given to clothing selection for the ceremony, formal portraits are traditionally created.

St. Edwards Catholic Church in Granville will have their ceremony on April 28th this year. Think about scheduling a portrait session in advance or after the ceremony date. Snapshots taken that day help to document the event, but a professionally executed portrait study of your child dressed in their special dress or suit will be a very special remembrance.

What better way to commemorate your little one’s first birthday than with a Birthday Cake Session?  This is a pre-paid session which includes a framed 3 image piece you’ll treasure for years to come.

This is the first of four Limited Edition Special Events we’ll have this year. A Limited Edition Session is a theme based session with special props and sets. Geared to little girls and boys ages 1 to 7, each event will take place for three days- a Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Appointments are scheduled for sessions on those days only as the studio is dedicated to that set for that period of time.

Limited Edition Events are prepaid. Our first event, Dress Up!, is $199 plus tax. The cost includes the session fee for one child and a three panel frame with selections from the shoot. Additional children can be added for $50 each, photographed within the same session time. The framed piece is 9×16, with openings for 4×5 prints. The frame is black wood with a white and black mat.

 Proofs from the event will be posted the following week and will remain on my website for two weeks. Selections for the framed piece can be made from the site, additional print orders can also be made from the site (great for out-of-town grandparents).

The finished framed piece will be available 3-4 weeks after the selections have been made.

We will have dress up props on hand, but feel free to bring your own! Maybe you have a string of pearls that have sentimental value or a pair of your shoes your child loves to play dress up in. The key to making fun, cute images is the contrast between the size of the child and adult clothes and accessories. Applying make-up, wearing a costume or uniform of “what I want to be when I grow up” are more fun ideas. Use your imagination and you’ll have as much fun as the kids!
